I ordered parts for a tune-up and a brake job yesterday around noon. Paid for cheap shipping, 3-5 day ground. Estimated delivery next wednesday. Parts arrived today. Kick-ass job RockAuto and FedEx.

Generally rock auto is pretty great at beating their estimate. Their customer service has been a hit or miss for me, though.

Counterpoint - ordered a part that I NEEDED (headlight switch/turn signal stalk) for my car so I could drive at night, paid extra shipping so it’d be here the next day...it never arrived, contacted RockAuto who, in turn contacted FedEx who claimed it was delivered; RockAuto told me I was SOL. No replacement part. No refund. Nothing. Had to dispute the charge through my credit card to get my 70ish bucks back. Had to order elsewhere and couldn’t drive at night for a few more days.

Be careful with Rock Auto. The do some shady stuff with warranties to get their prices down that low. I ordered a Fel-Pro rear main seal from them a while back. It took me about a while to get around to replacing it and when I opened the box the seal was wrinkled up. I was 3 days past the return window and Rock Auto wouldn’t do anything. I called Fel-Pro since the part has a 1 year manufacturer warranty. I was told that any parts that are sold through Rock Auto do not carry the manufacturer’s warranty. That’s how they undercut the competition.

I once had a RockAuto order ready with a shipping tracking number in under 15 minutes on a Saturday. They’re great about that turnaround thing.

Rock Auto is pretty amazing. They are one company that does the warehouse location thing right.

That’s not really customer service.

I’ve heard bad things about FedEx.
Right now though I’m biased towards the USPS, because they’re awesome. Got a new graphics card, got it delivered something like three days early. Needless to say, that was cool.
AMGtech - now with more recalls!

I’ve gotten wrong parts from them, because their catalog was wrong. Not only did they ship out the correct replacement (which ended up being 20% more expensive, that I didn’t have to worry about) overnight with a paid return label for the incorrect part, but they fixed the catalog by the next time I looked it up a few days later. And they only asked enough questions to figure out how to correct the issue.
